The Kolahoi Peak, also known as Gashair, has fueled the dreams of technical climbers and ski mountaineers since the early 1900s. This incredible Kashmir trekking tour know as kolahoi trek or kolahoi glacier trek or kolahoi base camp takes us deep inside the forest of Lidder Valley and over high alpine pastures, as we venture towards the kolahoi Glacier towards Kolahoi base camp to get close to this mighty Kolahoi peak with an altitude of 5434m.
This kashmir trekking route of kolahoi trek or kolahoi glacier trek or kolahoi base camp begins in the beautiful flower strewn meadow of Aru,upper lidder valley of pahalgam, and takes us through the rich pine forest of Lidderwat and Satlanjan (a shepherds paradise) to the terminal moraine of the Kolahoi Glacier, the kolahoi base camp for mountaineers.
We ascend the ridge opposite Kolahoi Peak to gain spectacular views of the Kolahoi Peak itself, and then retrace our footsteps back to Lidderwat, From here retrace our foot steps back to Aru. We then take to the water with an exhilarating Kashmir white water rafting trip. Our tour ends in Srinagar, exploring the old town or shopping at the floating market.
The trip also provides an opportunity to observe the Nomadic Gujars and Bakarwals who travel vast distances to enable their cattle to graze on the rich summer grass

Visa and Passport
Your passport should have at least six months of validity left and enough pages for visa extension. Visa are issued at the India embassies of your respective countries.They are valid for 120 days and must be obtained no more than six moths before your arrival in India.If you are visiting neighboring countries like Nepal then double/mufti entry visa is necessary.Visa extension can be easily obtained at New Delhi,in Srinagar and in Leh.
Travel Insurance
It is imperative to take out some insurance cover against sickness,evacuations injury and loss of baggage.We also recommend to cover your reimbursement of cancellation fee and other non recoverable expenses which will be useful in case if you are forced to cancel your booking because of accident or illness of a close family member.

A rough guide will be US $ 300 cash which will also include your tips to staff at the end of the trek from the day arrival to day of departure from Srinagar.You will need some extra money for your Overnight in Delhi on the way in and way out. In case you fall short you can get money from ATM in New Delhi,Srinagar and Leh.

Trekking Season ::
The season for Trekking in Kashmir and Trekking in Ladakh starts from Spring to Autumn through the glorious Summer. Spring which extends roughly from early May to ending March ,the summer from early April to ending August and the Autumn from early September to Late November.
Weather ::
During the spring time the weather can be gloriously pleasant at 23˚C or chilly and windy at 6˚C.This is the season when Kashmir experience the rains but the showers are brief. During summer Kashmir experience an average temperature between 25˚C to 35˚C.At this time the whole valley is mosaic of varying shades of green rice field,alpine flowered meadows and different types of fruit trees like apples,cjherrier , almonds ,walnuts and many more,Kashmir with its lakes and water ways at time time of the year is a heaven for the people from Indian plains to beat the heat .The onset of autumn is perhaps Kashmir loveliest season,is towards September when the green turns into gold then to russet to red.The highest temperature in September are around 23˚C and the night temperature dips to an average of 8˚C and further drops by November.Please note that temperature on trek will be cooler than Srinagar due to altitude.The day temperature on the trek are almost as good as in Srinagar but can plummet as soon as the sun goes down.

2. Mode of Payment
The price quoted in the brochure or on the snowmanadventures.com are for payment by cash,Cheque,Bank transfer or Credit card.Price quoted in the brochure or on the snowmanadventures.com are also subject to the change under the conditions moreover detailed at paragraph 4 of these terms and conditions.Price are quoted in Indian Rupees is only for SARC countries which will be equivalent to US $ as per the current exchange rate for the people living outside India.And all the payments must be paid in Indian currency.
3. Cancellation of Trip
If you wish to cancel your tour,you must notify Snowman Adventure and Travels in writing.Once Snowman Adventures receives you notice cancellation will take effect subject to the following.
a. If cancellation take place 10 days prior to your arrival date to Srinagar,your full deposit will be fortified.
b. If the cancellation takes place between 5 to 10 days your arrival date to Srinagar 50 % of your tour cost will be fortified.
c. If the cancellation takes place less than 5 days prior to your arrival date to Srinagar 100 % of your tour cost will be fortified.
The tour price is quoted as a package.No partial credits or refunds will be give for the service not used.Any amount fortified which has not been paid to Snowman Adventures and Travels by you,will be recovered from you by Snowman Adventures and Travels as a debt due and payable
4. Amendments
If you wish to make an amendment to your tour arrangement,you must notify Snowman Adventures and Travels in writing,Each amendment to you tour arrangements will incur Rs 500 Indian as administration fee and you will be liable for any increase in airfares or operational expenses occasioned by the amendment.All administration fee must be paid before departure
5. Transfers
If you wish to transfer from one tour to another,you must notify Snowman Adventures and Travels in writing.Once Snowman Adventures And Travels receives your notice ,the transfer will take effect subject to the following:-
Transfer may only be made to another tour to commence with 15 days of your original date of arrival to Srinagar and the following transfer charges will apply:-
If your notice is received by Snowman Adventures and Travels more than 10 days prior to your original date of arrival to Srinagar,a Rupees 500 as transfer fee will apply per person.In addition any increase in airfares or operational services will be payable by you prior to your date of arrival to Srinagar or
If your notice is received between 10 to 7 days before your original date of arrival to Srinagar 50 % of your tour cost will be fortified. n addition any increase in airfares or operational services will be payable by you prior to your date of arrival to Srinagar or
If your notice is received less than 7 days before the original date of arrival to Srinagar 100 % of your tour cost will be fortified.
Please Note :: Any request for amendment to tour arrangements or transfer from one tour to another is subject to availability of ground services(hotel etc) and the agreement in writing of Snowman Adventures and Travels (Terms and Condition),however the transfer of trip from one person to another is not permitted .Transfers will only be accepted if you are transferring to another tour that arrives to Srinagar in the same season.The Kashmir tourist season start from Early march to end of Feb.( 12 moths validity)
